4-H Club

Mission:  4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults


Cheerleading

Mission:  To promote school spirit throughout the student body, faculty, and citizens of the community, support ALL organized athletic teams, and provide positive leadership in all aspects of school life. 


DECA

Sponsor:  Stacy Oakley  

Mission The mission of DECA, Inc. is to enhance the co?curricular education of students with interest in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. DECA helps students to develop skills and competence for marketing careers, to build self?esteem, to experience leadership and to practice community service. DECA is committed to the advocacy of marketing education and the growth of business/education partnerships.


FCCLA  (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America)

Sponsor:  Kim Cupps

Mission:  To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.  Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and vocational preparation.


Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Sponsors:  (HS)  Alan & Melinda Isaacs    (JH)  Brenda Truett

Mission:  To present to students and all they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. 


Latta FFA Chapter

Sponsor:  Jeff Moore

Mission FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.


Latta Organization of Speech and Theater

Sponsor:  Davida Smith

Mission:  The purpose of this club is to enable creative minds to learn how to experiment with speech, drama, and debate, to come together as a team and form new friendships, to learn how to perform and compete successfully, and to represent Latta High School with dignity and respect.


Latta Rotary Interact

Sponsor:  Stacy Oakley

Mission:  Rotary Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18. Clubs benefit from sponsorship by Ada Sunrise Rotary Club, which provide support and guidance.  Interact?s global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.


Latta Young Democrats

Sponsor:  Steve Stevens

Mission:  To provide an important link between students as young citizens and their elected officials ? getting to know and being known by elected officials opens doors to students in education, political and social recognition, applications for scholarships and appointments, and provides an excellent opportunity for officials to seek input and opinions on issues important to young people today.


National Honor Society

Sponsor:  Holly Wood

Mission:  As a service organization, NHS?s purpose is to improve the school and community around us.  We do not exist in order to be recognized for our own benefit; we exist in order to serve others and to maintain the high standards of Latta School.  Our organization is centered on the principles of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. 


Skills USA

Sponsor:  Nathan Dial

Mission:  To prepare individuals for initial employment in their field of choice. It will provide a broad range of information to give the individual the confidence he needs to start his profession. Students who enroll in a Skills USA course should have the desire to learn. In addition, they will take pride in their work.  Further, Skills USA programs will help ensure that students have a good workplace attitude to maintain their job. 


Student Council

Mission:  The Latta High School Student Council is organized and maintained to:

  • Advocate and advance the study and learning of student government.

  • Encourage and support the development and implementation of meaningful and effective use of organizational structure and individual responsibility.

  • Provide a program of stimulating and useful civic activities for members.

  • Provide for educational and productive interaction among members, student body, administration, Board of Education, and students and leaders from other schools.
